GENERAL TIPS
- Remember to eat sitting down and chew slowly (20-30 times). Digestion starts from the mouth as we have digestive enzymes in our saliva.
- Do not drink during meals. Stop drinking 30 minutes before eating and resume drinking 45 minutes after finishing your meal.
- Don’t mix too many types of veggies together. Use only one kind of vegetable at a time.
- Do not boil. Always cook in a pan with extra virgin olive oil to support the liver and improve digestion.
- Squeeze lemon on top of high-fiber foods, such as legumes or kale, or tougher foods, like meat to make them easier to digest.
- Add fennel and cumin seeds to your plates to help prevent intestinal gas formation.
FIRST THING IN THE MORNING:
- Drink a glass of warm water with ½ tsp of fresh ginger juice or ginger powder to help prevent inflammation
- Do not introduce caffeine before food. Always wait until at least 30 minutes/1 hour after breakfast.
BEFORE HITTING THE BED
- Raise your legs up the wall for 15 minutes. Among the many benefits, it will also aid with digestion.
