Internal cleanse

Feeling “heavy”? It happens! Our body is susceptible to changes and it’s not uncommon to experience issues with our bowel (aka constipation) every time we “mess up” with our routine (think about traveling, changing job, moving to a different place, not sleeping enough, etc.). I studied this menu to promote bowel regularity through the use of potent foods and cooking methods for a true and real internal cleanse.

Before Breakfast: 1 glass of warm water with 1 tbsp chia seeds and lemon juice from half lemon.

BREAKFAST

Budwig Cream

  • 150g plain yogurt (Greek or plant-based)
  • ½ banana, smashed
  • 1 tbsp flaxseeds
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 6 raw almonds, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp psyllium husk, oats, or wheat germs

Mix all the ingredients together to form a “cream”

LUNCH

Eggplant Fritters

  • ½ large eggplant, sliced
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup of flour. Choose between the following: millet, buckwheat, quinoa, or brown rice flour
  • Spices of your choice to mix with flour (optional)

Dip eggplant slices first in the eggs and then in the flour mixture. Fry in extra virgin olive oil (don’t fear it, frying in Evo oil – only Evo oil – is a great internal cleansing boost)

Toppings:

  • ½ kiwi fruit
  • Cinnamon powder

What to drink: a cup of loose-leaf green tea, matcha or Americano/espresso, herbal tea, or chicory coffee (Suggested time: 15-20 minutes after breakfast)

Side & Dressing: Raw endives with Evo oil and chili flakes.

DINNER

Chickpea & Shroom Curry

Follow the recipe for the Creamy Chickpea Curry here + add mushrooms. I recommend slightly cooking the mushrooms in Evo oil before adding them to the curry.
