Hair loss is common – to a certain extent.
However, nowadays more and more people are experiencing abnormal hair loss due to an increase of hormonal disruptors in foods, skincare or haircare products, and the air itself. On the other hand, we live in a stressful world and stress has a huge role on hair health. Unfortunately, stressors are inevitable, but we can support healthy hair growth by using functional foods and natural products that actually work.
You can use the “Skin and Hair Health” filter in my recipes to discover all those foods that support hair health from the inside. In this post, I will talk about how to prevent excessive hair loss by strengthening it and stimulating its growth from the outside with two natural remedies.
- PUMPKIN SEED OIL
Pumpkin seed oil is rich in healthy fats, omega-3, and protein which will help nourish and strengthen the hair from the outside.
I also recommend eating the seeds at least 3-4 times a week as they balance out those sex hormones called androgens, helping prevent hair loss.
- ROSEMARY OIL
Rosemary oil has been shown to boost hair growth by acting as a potent anti-inflammatory, improving blood flow, and promoting nerve growth. It can also prevent premature graying and dandruff.
I also recommend cooking with fresh or dry rosemary to boost blood circulation from the inside, enhancing the flow of nutrients and oxygen throughout the body, from head to toes.
HOW TO OIL YOUR HAIR
- Apply oil to your scalp and massage with your fingertips with circular movements.
- Cover with a towel or shower cap.
- Leave on overnight
- The next day, shampoo hair while dry. Rinse thoroughly and apply conditioner.
For the best results, apply 1 to 2 times per week.
