Post Antibiotic

The metabolism of antibiotics and other medications can affect the body’s normal metabolic processes with the outcome of feeling bloated, tired, fluid overloaded and constipated. This menu is studied to support liver function and help the body flush out the toxins formed during drug metabolism. 

Recommended Tea: 1L Detox Tea Throughout the day in small sips 
Recommended Supplement: Probiotics “Gut Calm” by Jarrow Formulas or Enterelles (take 1 pill before going to bed for at least 1 month)

BREAKFAST

Sweet Potato Tortilla

 

  • 2 eggs
  • ½ sweet potato – cut into bite-sized cubes. Oven baked with olive oil
  • 5-6 sage leaves

Preheat some olive oil in a small skillet, add the sage and oven-baked sweet potatoes. Whisk the eggs and add them to the skillet. Cook each side for approximately 5 minutes. 

LUNCH

Vegan Bowl

 

  • Raw fennel, finely sliced 
  • 200g chickpeas (cooked weight) – stir-fry in evo oil and cumin powder. If using canned chickpeas, rinse well under cold water before cooking
  • 4-5 slices of grapefruit or orange
  • 2-3 Brazil nuts, finely sliced 

Side & Dressing: optional ½ avocado 

What to drink: a cup of green tea, coffee, chicory coffee or herbal tea (Suggested time: 15-20 minutes after breakfast) 

Dressing: Olive oil and optional 2 tsp fresh lemon juice

DINNER

Quinoa Salad 

 

  • 60-80g quinoa (dry weight) 
  • ¼ onion, minced
  • ¼ red pepper, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • 3-4 tbsp peas (fresh or frozen)

Boil quinoa. Sauté all the ingredients in a skillet with olive oil 

Side: Dandelion – cooked in olive oil and chili flakes
